We follow the Manitoba curriculum in English while deeply honoring and integrating our own Indigenous knowledge and traditions. Our emphasis on a holistic approach helps us teach with heart, mind, body, and spirit all in balance.
We base our approach on the principle of Two-Eyed Seeing. That means we value both Indigenous and Western perspectives and encourage students to explore how culture, land, and science connect in meaningful ways. Our educators design lesson plans that are grounded in ancestral teachings, cultural values, and the changing world-so learning feels relevant, respectful, and inspiring.
Our school is more than a place for academics. We nurture a strong sense of belonging and community. Students get to participate in a variety of local committees-from cultural and sports organizing to student leadership, to science fairs and graduation planning. It gives young people a voice and a place to grow not only in knowledge but in confidence, leadership, and identity.
We want each student to walk away feeling proud, capable, and firmly connected to their heritage. We believe that by blending strong academics with cultural grounding, we prepare young people to carry wisdom forward, embrace their dreams, and stay rooted in where they come from.
Mantou Sakahigan Kiskinamakewikamik School is more than a place of learning, it is the center of our community's growth and pride. We provide a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment where every student feels supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. Our school serves students from Nursery to Grade 12 in a facility that brings together classrooms, gathering spaces, and areas for both academic and cultural learning.
We believe education must nurture the whole person-mind, body, heart, and spirit. At Mantou Sakahigan Kiskinamakewikamik School, language and culture are part of everyday learning, helping students feel confident in who they are. We prepare our young people to succeed in academics while staying proud of their roots, so they are ready for the opportunities that await them in the future.
